the onion is toxic for the cat
The onion contains a compound that is toxic for red globules (eritrocitos) of the cats, exists destruction of such and produces anemia. This type of anemia is called ?anemia by bodies of Heinz?, because the sanguineous cells have a called abnormality ?bodies of Heinz? that can be observed under the microscope.
This disease was pronounced in some countries where it got used to administering to the cats eaten for babies who contained onion dust. It is important to administer to the cats the food indicated for them, in some cases some human foods can contain ingredients that the cats do not tolerate, in this case the onion.
Garlic contains a compound similar to the one of the onions that cause the bodies of Heinz, producing anemia, nevertheless the garlic compound is much less toxic.
