Russian blue

  It is a race that has been developed naturally, not one that the criadores have produced in search of a specific appearance. Until it can be the Arcángel, a class of which one says that English navigators brought it of Russia in century XVI although in the XVII to the blue cats Malteses was called to them. In Great Britain, at the early time of the young of cats, the Briton Azu, ls called cats Russian, Spanish, Maltés and Arcángel exhibited themselves along with, but in 1912 the Russian obtained a separated classification. After World War II Siamese blood was introduced since its number was and reduced in Britain and by a time the British standard it required a Siamese style, but, a cat of Siamese appearance would be undesirable in both sides of the Atlantic.

The double coat with its silver-plated brightness is particular of the race. In Great Britain the varieties Russian White and the Black Russian have been developed towards identical standards, except by the color of the coat.
