One thinks that it is originated of the Burman monasteries where this race was venerated like a divinity.
Related to the Siamese, it was mattered of Rangún to EE.UU towards 1920.
Head: it cuts and it narrows, in form of triangle, always less long than the one of the Siamese. Pronounced chin, strong jaw. Wide ears in the base, of cleared end. Eyes: of Eastern characteristics, distanced, of golden color.
Body: of stature medium, long, muscular, strong, long neck, round chest, fine extremities, more elevated the later ones, small feet of made oval form. Tail: it releases, it narrows, sharpened. Hair: short, fine, thick and shining.
Color: Brown (Dark Sable Brown), when the cat is adult darkens itself. It is the only color recognized in EE.UU., however, in England others are admitted. Blue, gray and silver, slightly darker mantle on the back and the tail, gray tonalities in ears, snout and feet. Champagne, mantle very clear chocolate with clear ears and affluent mask. Platinum, mantle that seems lila in the puppies, later to present/display a gray color with rosaceous tonalities. Red, Mandarin mantle color with darker ears. Cream, mantle color cream with slightly darker ears. Grudge of turtle (females). In EE.UU the blue Burmés, champagne (chocolate) and platinum (lila), called Malayan are considered a race aside.
Character: affectionate, intelligent, sociable, good hunter. Atmosphere: one adapts well to a floor, mainly if there is terrace. Taken care of: cepillado and bath occasional. Sensible to the cold. Defects: white spots in the throat, too dark drawings or ralladuras in the mantle, colors, gray or green eyes, tail bent or with knots.
