Maine coon
The cat Maine Coon is the first race that was developed in the United States: The name comes by the belief of the colonizadores that it was the result of crosses of a raccoon and a cat, impossible in the nature.
Tene some similarity with the Cat of the Norwegian Forest and perhaps their origins can be tracked until a cat that the first vikingos colonizadores took to the United States.
The strong and muscular aspect of the Maine Coon is a reminder of its unfolding like cat of work farm.
Its dense, woolly, resistant coat to the climatic rigors, with the skin covered by a bright more abundant outer coat, with which it supports the winter of Maine, virtually is taken care of single.
This race has a good natured disposition and it recognizes in an ample range of colors and patterns.
The color of the eyes does not have to match with the coat.
Body: Of medium to great, long, muscular and of great chest; solid legs of medium length with great round claws, the long tail and narrows towards the end.
Head: Of medium length and a little less wide, full square snout and cheeks; ears great, pointed, of wide base and placed in stop but very separated, the long and moderately heavy neck in the males.
Eyes: Great, round and very distant to each other, slightly oblique in opening and positioning. In green, gold or receives; blue or uneven with the white color.
Coat: Dense and woolly, of silky texture and smooth fall.
Colors: Natural, punteado, atigrado and multicolor in target, black, blue, red, cream and silver.
